About the Role
The Shanghai Disputes team is looking to appoint a bright and enthusiastic Trainee Associate to support with all litigation matters as required.
Who you’ll be working with
The Trainee Associate will work closely with the Associate and other members of the broader Disputes team.
What you’ll be doing
The Trainee Associate will liaise with senior lawyer on all aspects of litigation providing support and assistance accordingly.
Responsibilities
Communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with senior lawyers;
Support on litigation matters as required by senior lawyer, including legal research, conflict checks, writing memo;
Assist in handling different types of international disputes, controversies and lawsuits;
Draft the legal documents under the instructions by senior lawyers;
Provide concise letters and reports, written in plain language; and
Produce confident written and oral advocacy in a time sensitive environment
Qualifications and experience
Postgraduate qualification in law
Should have commenced application for foreign bar admission with a view to completing during the traineeship
Ability to effectively note take and record clear instructions
Excellent research skills
Good level of English and fluent Mandarin sought; and
Some court litigation experience, however we will consider candidates from international arbitration or other investigation or insolvency/restructuring backgrounds who meet all the other requirements.
